The tourism industry is a $50 billion business in the United States, and Wisconsin is home, among other things, to some of the country’s biggest, most expensive attractions, according to a report from the National Association of Tourism Agencies.
Wisconsin has three of the top ten tourist attractions in the nation, according the National Alliance.
Wisconsin is second in the list for overall tourist arrivals in 2019, after California, according data compiled by the National Travel & Tourism Association.
The state is also home to the largest number of Wisconsin visitors in the U.S. as a whole, according their 2017 data.
The five Wisconsin attractions in their 2017 report were all at least 10,000 people, according that data.
Wisconsin is second only to New York City in the number of people visiting its state parks annually, according statistics compiled by USA Today.
The other two states are New Hampshire and New Jersey, with nearly 1.5 million people each visiting each park annually.
In Wisconsin, tourists can check out the Big Blue State’s most popular tourist attractions like Big Blue Park, the Wisconsin State Capitol, Lake Wisconsin and the Big River, the Associated Press reported.
The Big Blue is one of Wisconsin’s largest tourist attractions.
The Wisconsin tourism industry was estimated at $4.8 billion in 2019 and it is expected to grow to $5.3 billion in 2020, according a report by the American Institute of Architects.
The average Wisconsin hotel stay is about $1,000, and the average Wisconsin home is valued at about $150,000.
Wisconsin also has a relatively large population, which contributes to the high cost of living, according USA Today, which said Wisconsin ranked 11th among the 10 states in the total number of visitors.
Wisconsin tourism was valued at $2.1 billion in 2016.
